Thank you for taking the time to read about our work. The goals of our foundation Open Hands are to:

Help the orphans

1. Give the poorest children and orphans in Asia, with a main focus on Thailand, a safe an bight future. Open Hands supports the following orphanages by facilitating long distance adoptions (sponsorship).. 

* The orphanage "Grace Home", in the city of Chang Mai, Northern Thailand.
Grace Home has two sections for girls (Joy I and II) and one sections for boys (life boat). Presently there are 22 girls and 8 boys at the orphanage.

* The orphanage in Tachileik,  Burma.
This Orphanage currently houses 68 children. Open hands started doing long distance adoptions at this orphanage January 2005 and there is still a huge need for more people wanting to adopt.

Many people take part in creating a better future for these children through long distance adoption.

In addition Open Hands has or is supporting the following orphanage through different building projects, food, school and clothing supports etc.: 

* The orphanage  "Hoay Maw", at the border town of Mai Sai, N-Thailand
Currently 185 children lives at this orphanage, they have no supporters but from Open Hands.  

Community developement

2. Organizations like Life Development Centre (LDC), works among the Hill tribe peoples of Northern Thailand. LDC does health prevention as well as establishing community groups in the different villages and through them develops rice mill project, handicraft project, fish farm project, chicken farm project etc. In this way attempting to reverse the flow of young women travelling to the big cities looking for work but in most cases ending up in prostitution. Most of Bangkok's prostitutes originate from these villages. .
